Substation Project
Texas Gulf Coast Substation Project
This multi-million-dollar project comprised building a new 345/138kV elevated substation in the Texas Gulf Coast area and was part of an ERCOT reliability-approved plan to meet growing electricity demand in Texas. Our scope included more than twelve thousand yards of concrete and constructing massive piers 9ft x 60 ft deep to elevate this project at 10ft above grade due to its proximity to the coast. Construction also included three 800MVA autotransformers, seven new 345kV line positions, fourteen new 345kV breakers, six reactors, twenty-three new 138kV breakers, four 138kV cat banks, and two automatic 138kV cat banks, one 345kV control house and one 138kV elevated control house, two elevated 30/40/50 MVA power transformers, five distribution feeder breakers, all related structural steel, conduit and grounding, control cable pulling, terminations, welding and assistance with testing and commissioning.
